Sydney experts Deicorp have been delivering excellence for more than 20 years and now deliver a stunning new residential CBD landmark to Sydney
Following a highly competitive design excellence process, the City of Sydney has selected leading architectural firm Candalepas Associates to design Deicorp’s exciting new CBD project.
Sydney experts Deicorp have been delivering excellence for more than 20 years, and with the architectural inspiration of Candalepas Associates, will deliver a truly stunning new CBD landmark.
“As one of Australia’s most respected architects, we are delighted to be once again working with Angelo Candalepas”, Deicorp founder and chairman Fouad Deiri said.
“His vision for this building will see us deliver a timeless and classic building that will set a new standard for residential luxury in Sydney”. Mr Deiri added.
Plans have now been submitted to the City of Sydney the 55-leve, 234m luxury residential and retail tower. The building will be constructed on the site of the Polding Centre. Deicorp acquired the development rights in October 2021 for an undisclosed amount.
The 133 Liverpool Street building was built in 1977 and has housed the offices of the Catholic Archdiocese for many years. However, it was discovered that extensive renovation and remedial works were needed to maintain the historic structure. Now, Deicorp have been tasked with developing a new slimline tower to stand in its place, while honouring the building’s iconic presence.
Deicorp is working with some of Australia’s leading interior, design and materials specialists to develop a new landmark that will perfectly complement the superb views over Hyde Park and Sydney Harbour. The new tower will stand at the corner of Liverpool Street and Castlereagh Street, in the heart of it all.
The proposed 55-storey tower will feature separate entry foyers for the upper floor residences plus4 floors of A-grade office space. Sitting above the commercial floors will be 168 luxurious apartments offering stunning views over Sydney Harbour.
Known for their commitment to promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles, the Deicorp apartment developers are also planning to incorporate a tree-lined courtyard on-site. For use by residents, tenants, and visitors alike, the space will act as a peaceful and serene haven in the bustling CBD.
“Our objective for this project is to deliver a building that Sydney falls in love with. That everyone dreams of living in. And brings a new standard of elegance and style to this vibrant part of the city.” Mr Deiri said.
The new project from this specialist builder/developer is just one of the many exciting changes taking place around Sydney’s Tech Central district. Together with the Hyde Park South precinct, this part of the CBD is rapidly becoming a hub of innovation and activity. It’s not surprising to learn that Deicorp’s design excellence process drew applications from a large number of both established and emerging architectural firms – all with brilliant ideas for the future of the south end of the CBD.
The development will form the latest in a long line of residential and commercial buildings that Deicorp has delivered over its 20 years. To date, the company has delivered more than 8000 apartments across more than 40 Sydney suburbs, including Rouse Hill, Zetland, Rockdale, and Castle Hill.
Candalepas was established in 1999 by architect Angelo Candalepas, whose work has featured in multiple exhibitions both in Australia and internationally. The award-winning firm boasts a varied portfolio, designing everything from apartments and homes to schools and company headquarters and recently won the coveted National Gallery of Victoria project.
This is not the first time that Deicorp and Candalepas have worked together. In fact, the two have a proven track record for delivering excellence. This can easily be seen with the two organisations’ work on The Petersham Precinct, a luxury residential development located 6km from the CBD.
Candalepas was selected to bring their architectural expertise to one of two residential buildings in The Petersham Precinct: The Regent. The in-demand apartments feature a stylish designer-inspired flair, and are attracting families and young professionals looking to enjoy a chic inner-city lifestyle.
“The Regent was so well received by purchasers that it was completely sold out well before construction was completed.” Mr Deiri commented
The full development application was submitted to the Central Sydney Planning Committee by in May just two months after the appointment of the architect. Following approval, work on demolishing the Polding Centre will begin and construction of the stunning and elegant new tower will commence.
“This project is something we are all very excited about. Working with Australia’s best design talent will ensure the building will become an instant icon in the Sydney skyline.” Mr Deiri concluded.
